315 PRAY — Prayer. Hope. Jesus.

Privacy Policy

Effective August 1, 2026

315 PRAY is a free, confidential, faith-based prayer line and a ministry of Covenant Church in Black River, New York. This policy explains what information we collect when you reach out for prayer, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain and honest. If anything here is unclear, please contact us.

315 PRAY offers spiritual support and encouragement only. It is not counseling, therapy, or medical, legal, or crisis services, and it is not a substitute for 911 or 988. In an emergency, call 911. In crisis, call or text 988.

Information we collect

When you use 315 PRAY, we may collect:

  • Your mobile phone number — so we can send you a one-time verification code and connect you with a volunteer.
  • Your verification and consent records — the fact that you verified your number and agreed to our terms, with a timestamp.
  • The content of your prayer conversation — the messages you exchange with a volunteer (for text), or basic call records such as time and duration (for calls). We do not record the audio of prayer calls.
  • Limited technical information — standard data your device and our hosting providers generate (such as IP address and general device/browser information) used to operate and secure the service.

We do not ask for your name, address, email, payment information, or any government identifiers, and you never need to provide them.

How we protect your phone number

Your phone number is masked. The volunteer who prays with you does not see your real number, and any call is bridged through our ministry line so your number is never revealed to them. Likewise, you do not see the volunteer's personal number.

How we use your information

  • To verify your number and connect you with an available volunteer.
  • To carry your prayer conversation between you and the volunteer.
  • To keep the service safe and reliable — for example, preventing abuse and honoring block requests.
  • To respond to your questions or requests.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Text messaging (SMS)

By verifying your number, you consent to receive text messages from 315 PRAY related to your prayer request. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP; reply HELP for help. Your consent to receive messages is not shared with third parties, and mobile opt-in information is never sold or used for marketing.

Service providers we use

We rely on a few trusted providers to run the service, and your information is shared with them only to make 315 PRAY work:

  • Twilio — delivers our text messages and phone calls.
  • Supabase — securely stores conversation and session data.
  • Vercel — hosts this website.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy and security terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a person.

Confidentiality and safety

We treat your conversation as private and share it only as needed to provide the service. Please understand that our volunteers are caring, trained lay people — not licensed counselors or clergy — and conversations are not legally privileged. If we believe someone is in danger, we may encourage them to contact 911 or 988, or take other steps we reasonably believe are necessary to protect life and safety.

How long we keep your information

We keep conversation and session records only as long as needed to provide the service, support follow-up care, and maintain safety, and then delete or de-identify them. Verification codes are short-lived and expire quickly. You may ask us to delete your conversation records at any time (see below).

Your choices and rights

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages.
  • Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@315pray.com.

Children's privacy

315 PRAY is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Effective” date above. Continued use of 315 PRAY after a change means you accept the updated policy.
